Aquavikes Dominate First Meet

The Aquavikes hosted Fairfield Union on Wednesday, November 29 for their season’s first meet. The boys gained 11 gold, 10 silver, and 4 bronze medals for a 129-33 win, while the girls achieved 11 golds, 9 silvers, and 7 bronzes to lead 131-35. 

On the boys side, William H. and Andy L. scored 12 points each, with Max B., Mircea B., William D., and Justin L. tallying 10 apiece. William H. showed notable performances in the 200 and the 500 free, taking first with 1:49.31 and 5:07.62, respectively. Andy won first in four events with two individual successes: a 56.70 in the 100 fly and a season best 2:06.21 in the 200 IM. A new contribution to the team, William D. tallied a gold in 100 breast with 1:02.84, a personal best. The Vikes dominated the Falcons, securing first place in every event and an easy victory.

The girls found similar successes with 12-point contributions from Lillian B., Maddie E., and Olivia L., and 10-point additions from Rene F. and Morgan S. Stellar performances include Olivia’s 2:16.66 in the 200 IM, Maddie’s 57.85 in the 100 free, and Lillian finishing 500 free in 5:36.94. Lillian and Maddie both collected four golds to start their season strong.

Looking ahead, the swim team travels to St. Charles on Saturday, December 9 for the St. Charles Showdown.
