College counselors surprise and serve seniors (Claire S./Staff)
Seniors left assembly early on Monday, October 30 for an unexpected treat from the College Counselors. Dashing to the Trustees’ Room, Vikes were eager to see what was waiting for them. Trying to keep warm, before entering the building, the class huddled and then were in awe of what they found inside: an array of warm snacks and beverages. To celebrate all 106 Vikings’ college applications, the counselors surprised us with a variety of bagels, cream cheese and hot chocolate.
Seniors started working on their college applications last May and have sincespent countless hours working on them throughout the summer and first quarter. They also attended workshops and scheduled bi-weekly meetings with their respective college counselors.
As a senior, I found these treats to be a wonderful gift. The hot chocolate was just what I needed to start off my week, especially considering the cold weather. It was also nice having the time to sit and talk with my classmates before going to our next classes. Thank you, college counseling!
