The Vikes traveled to Thomas Worthington on Monday, October 9, to take on the 13-2 Cardinals. Academy’s play was promising, but Thomas Worthington found a hole in the defense, resulting in a goal for the Cardinals. The girls failed to come back from the Cardinal’s one-point lead.

Hungry for redemption, Academy ventured to Worthington Kilbourne on Wednesday, October 11. The Wolves came out strong but stood no match for the Vikings offense. With goals from Braydn C., Lauren G., Kendall O., Katie N., and Katie V. the Maroon and Gray shut down Kilbourne’ss lone goal scored in the third quarter,  tallying another win under their belt.

The Vikes finished the regular season with 11-4-1, placing third in the conference with a record of 6-2, trailing behind Bishop Watterson and New Albany.

Entering the first round of the postseason tournament, Academy faces Bishop Hartley on Tuesday, October 17, at home. Depending on the results of the match, the Vikes will proceed to take on Bishop Watterson later in the week.
