Looking to add another to the 3 game winning streak, the Vikes journeyed to Madison-Plains on Monday, October 2 at 7 p.m. The Vikes fell in the first two sets 25-16 and 25-21, respectively before they captured the third and fourth sets at  25-20 and 25-23. Tied up at 2-2, neither team wanted to back down. In a nail biting final set, the Golden Eagles earned a 3-2 win over the Maroon and Grey.

Following the loss, the Vikes traveled home for a game the next day against Bexley on Tuesday, October 3 at 6 p.m. Despite the game being a rivalry, both teams joined together to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month. Academy raised money for the Sideout Foundation, a non-profit. The girls decorated the gym and lobby with pink decor, created special pink jerseys, and placed QR codes around the gym that led fans to a place to donate. The Vikes raised $1329.78 with $453.78 of the total coming from the bake sale at the game.

The Vikes lost the first and second sets 25-14 and 25-18. Fighting back in the third, the Vikings took the set 26-24. In the fourth set, the Lions won 25-20., ending the game, 3-1.

Ending the week on the road, the Vikings lost to the Tree of Life on Saturday, October 7 at 1:30 p.m., 3-0.

With a 10-9 record, the Vikes play at CSG on Tuesday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
