The entire school assembled in the Mack gym the afternoon of Friday, Saturday 29 to prepare for the football rivalry game against the Bexley Lions.

Student council busied itself with preparations, and the rally began with words from student body co-presidents Angela H. and Mikey J., who introduced the Vikings, Vlad (Aanav K.) and Vicky (Lauren W.), gallivanting onto the gym floor dripping with excitement. However, a “disturbance in the force,” the Bexley Lion (David W.), interrupted them with a dueling challenge, and the two parties agreed to three team games to settle the altercation. 

The first contest was bowling, which came down to the wire when the winning team knocked over its opponent’s pins with only one of its own left standing. The second game was a pie-eating competition in which Nick Y. won by devouring a pie in seconds, whipped cream covering his face. The last event was an obstacle course-style scooter board race where the lower schoolers defeated the upper schoolers. 

Afterward Mr. Farrenkopf, dressed as a Jedi, escorted Nelson the school’s facility dog, clad in Yoda attire, onto the gym floor. To cap off the rally, Vlad and Vicky light-saber dueled the Lion, chasing it out of The Mack and uniting Academy’s students in the spirit of victory.
