Columbus Academy’s girls golf team rolled to another postseason victory, winning districts to catapult themselves into states contention. The girls took one more step towards their ultimate goal of winning a second state title in just the team’s fifth season of existence. Now, only one more obstacle stands between them and greatness.

On October 2, they teed off at Darby Creek and prevailed with a team score of 325, just 4 strokes fewer than CSG’s 329. Freshman Eva L. continued her breakout season shooting 73 and winning medalist honors. Senior co-captain Angela H. followed with 80, junior Caroline Z. collected 83, fellow co-captain Sydney F. hit 89, and sophomore Ella T. finished with a 94. With Monday’s result, it’s the Vikes’ third straight district title.

They now set their sights on states at the Ohio State University Gray course from October 13 to 14.

The school honored the team’s three seniors at Senior Night during halftime of the Worthington Christian football game. Angela, Sydney, and Abbey Z. celebrated with family and friends as they basked in applause and photos. Angela played on the team since her freshman year, Sydney joined during her junior year, and Abbey made the JV squad in her sophomore year. Congratulations to these girls on their contributions to CA’s girls golf team. Because of them, the program climbs ever higher.
