Fans decked out in neon as cheers echoed through the night for the biggest game of the year on Friday, September 29 against Bexley.
In the first quarter, the Vikes failed to convert a fourth down, but Michael M. intercepted Bexley’s quarterback to regain possession. Running back Greyson T. made a 28-yard run dash through to the end zone, bringing the score to 7-0. Greyson raced for another touchdown in quarter two, and Nick T. carried the ball for a score. With 21 seconds left, Theo F. found Harmon G. for a touchdown, extending the lead to 28-0.
In the second half, Theo intercepted the ball and Abe U. sprinted into the end zone. The Lions scored two touchdowns with six minutes to go, but Academy’s first half led to a 35-13 victory.
This marks Academy’s seventh consecutive victory against Bexley and the team’s seventh win of the season. The Vikes host Worthington Christian on Friday, October 6.
