Volleyball Celebrates Its Nine Seniors

Battling Bishop Ready on Tuesday, September 12 at 7 p.m., the Vikings honored its 9 seniors. Excitement stirred throughout the lobby, as spectators admired the decorations and posters dedicated to Annika B., Rene F., Alli K., Maddie M., Kelli R., Eleanor S., Ellie S., Eliora T., and Lauren W. before the first serve of the match. 

Annika and Rene are both liberos and defensive specialists and have played the game for 6 years. Alli K. is an outside hitter and defensive specialist who has also played for 6 years. Maddie M., another 6-year player  is a middle hitter. Rightside, Kelli R., joined the sport in 7th grade. Sixth-year player, Eleanor S. is the team’s setter. Ellie S. has played for 5 years and is an outside hitter. Eliora T. is also one of the original members who has played since 7th grade and is both a middle and right side hitter. Lauren W. is a defensive specialist who has played for 5 years. 

Following the ceremony, the all-senior starting lineup took the court. The Sliver Knights defeated the Vikings by taking the first set 25-22. The Vikes led early in the second set but fell 3-0 in the end. 

Hosting their second home game of the week, the Vikes welcomed CSG on Thursday, September 14 at 7 p.m. and ended with a 3-2 win favor of the Vikes. 

The team travels to Grandview Heights on Thursday, September 21 for a 6 p.m. match.
