Two Victories, One Perfect Match for Girls Tennis

Girls varsity found success last week away against Olentangy Orange on Monday, September 11, and at home against Bishop Ready on Thursday, September 14.

Facing the Braves on Monday, Grace P.’s first singles match came down to the wire. After clearing her opponent 6-2 in the first set, she fumbled the second set in a tiebreaker, with the game score coming out to 6-7. In spite of this setback, she rallied back and won the match in a tiebreaker. Tamanna A. won 6-2, 6-3 at second singles, and Yasemin B. shut out her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Arya C. and Gabrielle S. defeated their contenders 6-1, 6-3 at first doubles, and Malia C. and Sophie W. finished it out 6-3, 6-4 in second doubles.

CA attained a perfect score against the Silver Knights on Thursday, with all the Vikings going 6-0, 6-0. Gabrielle S., Alina L., and Audrey L. played first, second, and third singles, respectively. Malia C. and Sophie W. were at first doubles, and Charlotte B. and Mary P. played second doubles.

The Vikes travel to Dublin Jerome on Monday, September 18, to play at 4:00 p.m.
