A 7th place, 21:22.87 from Melanie Q. and 10th place, 21:49.49 from Clara S., led the girls to a bottom-half finish amongst seven teams at Watkins Memorial on september 9. Freshman Claire D. improved her season best to 24:46.03, the team’s third-ranked and the competition’s 37th-ranked score.

Our boys fared better, with four sub-20 minute times and three in the top fifty. Dane C. provided a 17:53.70 for 28th, and Elliot S. an 18:06.60 for 46th to achieve 7th among twelve teams. Underclassmen Andy B. and Chris H. had their season bests of 19:08.00 and 18:06.00 for respective 62nd and 31st places.

Graham A. understands that scores aren’t everything. He said, “This meet may not have had the most stellar results, but I’m glad we ran. The team is really supportive and close, and that’s what cross country is all about.”
