Our boys golf team won two out of their three games last week. On August 29, the varsity squad beat Bloom Carroll as sophomore Jack W. set the standard with a 39, Gavin M. followed with a 40, Rowen L. shot 42, and the final three, senior Matthew F, Alex S., and Ethan B, had 43. 

On Thursday, August 31, the JV team lost by 4 strokes against Big Walnut. Sarthak A. led with 42, followed by Dilin G. with 43, Gavin H. (46), Hunter F. (47), James V. (48), and Gavin S. (55). 

On September 2, the team played in the Bob Darwin Invitational hosted by Bexley in Westchester and held a score of 316 but finished 4th behind first place DeSales with 286. Matthew scored lowest with 70, Rowen with 79, Jack and Alex hit 80 and 87 respectively, and James L. wrapped up with 91.

Next week’s matches see the team face Big Walnut on September 5 at Royal American Links, followed by a visit to Johnstown-Monroe at Clover Valley on September 7, and then a finish off with St. Charles on September 9 at the Brookside Country Club.
