David and Evan order ice cream (Lance H. Staff)
On May 12, student council arranged for a Belgica Waffles food truck to serve hungry members of our CA community outside the senior lounge. Students and faculty had a wide variety of tasty options, from waffles with a pecan crumble and caramel drizzle to a PB&J style. Drinks included espresso, tea, and hot chocolate to kick start one’s day. The truck operated from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.and was a fan favorite.
To celebrate the end of AP season on May 15, STUCO coordinated a Chilljoy Frozen Treatery food truck offering many frozen delights. Parked in the drop off circle, students could choose between ice creams such as fudge brownie and Buckeye Fever and a slew of shaved ice flavors ranging from cotton candy, grape, and cherry. The truck was open from 12:30-1:30 p.m., with lines snaking across the Lazarus Courtyard.
Random food truck days have become a staple of Academy over the past year, and it looks like this tasty, popular event will continue in the future
