Boys track competed in the Mid-State League meet on Thursday, May 11, against Bexley, Buckeye Valley, Grandview Heights, Wellington, Whitehall-Yearling, and Worthington Christian.
In field events, Marcus J. finished third in shot put, throwing 44’10.” Justin A. earned seventh with a 19’0” in long jump.
Hurdler Gabe A. ran 17.11 for third in the 110m hurdles, followed by a fifth and sixth-place finish in the 300m hurdles by Charlie B. and Gabe A. with times of 43.61 and 44.94, respectively.
Justin A. sprinted the 100m in 11.57, placing fifth. In the 400m dash, Gabe D-R. clinched fourth with 52.02 while Patrick F. ran 53.20 for sixth.
Elliott S. received sixth in the 800m and seventh in the 1600m, running 2:07.76 and 4:42.28, respectively. Dane C. had a strong showing in the 3200m, crossing the line in fourth at 10:22.55.
The 4x100m relay of Justin A., Charlie B., Carson J., and Emmanuel J. ran 45.47, placing third. Justin A., Gabe D-R., Emmanuel J., and Ayden N. snatched second in the 4x200m with 1:34.52.
In the 4x400m, Gabe D-R., Patrick F., Jono H., and Elliott S. finished in third with 8:47.85. Dane C., Jono H., Chris H., and Elliott S. ran to fourth in the 4x800m relay at 8:47.85.
The Vikings shattered personal records across every event, competing hard for a fifth-place finish. They will compete for districts at Westerville South for two preliminary rounds on May 16 and 17, followed by finals on Saturday, May 20.
