On April 22, the Model UN club traveled to Dublin Jerome for its Spring MUN conference. Led by Mr. Compton, the students participated in separate sessions based on the TV shows Phineas and Ferb and Better Call Saul and role-played as their respective characters trying to solve problems.

Both sessions were administered as crisis committees, a more chaotic and open form of policy debate in Model UN. Delegates drafted position papers on their issues and then deliberated by following standard guidelines. This was the first conference that Columbus Academy participated in this spring since North American Invitational United Nations (NAIMUN). Their final conference, CAMUN, will be held on campus on May 20-21. Three students won awards: Ellie T. won “outstanding delegate” in Saving Phineas and Ferb. For Better Call Saul, Chaz M. won verbal commendation, and Morgan R. received an honorable mention.

Angela H. said, “It was the first time that CA Model UN branched out and it was a great experience as we were able to connect with other Model UN teams in central Ohio. Morgan and I had such a fun time leading this team and a huge thank you to Jerome for inviting us and to Mr. Compton for making this happen. It is never too late to join MUN and if you are interested please reach out and attend our last conference this coming May!”
