In spite of the unusually warm weather on Friday April 21, Service Board members convened inside the theater during our activity block to attend the president Meet and Greet. Moderated by current SB president, Emily M. asked the presidential candidates questions to help members learn about their potential new officers and their vision for school service.
Asked “What would you do to improve SB,” the three Vikings responded with diverse answers. Justin A. would employ technology to streamline the voting process and disseminate information faster and more efficiently. Milana B. would revive events shelved since Covid. Arya C. would add a “SB suggestions Box” to answer problems and questions that Service members have.
The election process for these juniors began after submitting their signed petitions on April 10. Later that week, they met with the Emily and Lia to learn about the leadership responsibilities for both positions.
Unlike Student Council co-presidents who run on a ticket, the candidate who receives the most votes will become the next president, and the person who receives the second highest number of votes will become VP.
On Monday, April 24, each candidate will speak for about two minutes before voting commences.
Good luck to all the candidates!
