Blood Drive Exceeds Goals Again

To recognize their generosity, April blood donors like Ellen H. and Mr. Hansen received a limited edition Red Cross tee-shirt featuring Snoopy. (Courtesy/Ms. Crain)

The American Red Cross Blood Drives are held in the Athletic Lobby. The school had thirty-five members (five more than projected) donate blood on April 11. The five-and-a-half hour drive enabled the greater Columbus chapter to collect 26 units. Because each unit has the potential to save 3 lives, these donations will save about 78 lives!

Special thanks to the 15 student volunteers and Blood Drive team of Ms. Bening, Ms. Crain, Ms. Hansen, Justin A., Alli K., Stella L., Arnav N., and Jack Y.

For next year’s Upper School students who meet the age, height, weight and other requirements, please support this thirty-year tradition in October. Though we may not pursue a career in healthcare, we have the power to save lives.

“[Donating blood is] a very quick and easy process, and you can still participate in normal everyday activities during the rest of the day. It is also a great feeling knowing that your donation can save up to three people’s lives,” said Alli K.
