Summer can provide time for self-improvement, and lst year, the CA administration bolstered a group of students to engage with our community through LeaderShape, anon-profit that hosts transformational leadership programs for high-school students. This summer, our administration will sponsor another 40 US students to attend this four-day leadership experience. Dean Thompson encourages those invited to consult past participants.

The first cohort of Vikings spent June 13-16 at Salt Fork Lodge, learning to lead with integrity. A number of sophomores, juniors and seniors represented diverse activities such as Student Council, Service Board, sports, band, orchestra, and  a few affinity groups’ mission was to make a difference in our community.

During the program, CA LeaderShape participants attended workshops, small group discussions, and team building challenges with the aim to improve their communication skills by the end of the retreat.

Qualifying CA leaders who wish to attend this year’s LeaderShape will soon hear more about the application process.

Alex L. said, “Not only did the [LeaderShape] experience teach me to be a better leader, but it also taught me more about who I am and how I interact with others.”
