Canceled last year due to Covid, this year’s Winter Formal, which took place on Saturday, February 11 was highly anticipated for the upper schoolers. On January 30, The Winfo committee announced its theme as a CArnival through a video montage of scenes from The Greatest Showman.

Later that week, the committee surprised the student body with popcorn and cotton candy from Columbus Cotton Candy as a teaser for the dance.

At 9:00 pm on February 11, students entered the Dining Hall to see live performers, carnival games, balloon animals, photo booths, and circus-themed snacks. Students immediately hit the dance floor, excited about the return of Winfo.

One more surprise was in store for the student body. Academy’s own Ethan K. performed his original song, “Dance Your Worries Away,” followed by a duo band called The Dibbles, which featured Yiling H. and his friend from Chicago who flew in for the performance.
