Three Seniors Sign for College Athletics

On Thursday, February 2, the dining hall buzzed with students and excitement as three of our star
athletes committed to playing college sports. Gabe E., Charlie H., and Harold H. each signed the papers
that will take them to the next level of their respective sports.

Gabe E. was the first to put pen to paper to run track and field at the University of Chicago as his family, friends, and coaches cheered. Mr. Singleton commented on Gabe’s athletic accomplishments including winning MVP on the track team last year.

Charlie H. followed. He will play basketball at Kenyon. Mr. Singleton highlighted Charlie’s relentlessness as an Academy basketball player. Charlie looked overwhelmed with emotion as his teammates and coaches gathered around to congratulate him on his accomplishment.

The last to sign was Harold H. who will be playing rugby at the University of Tennessee. Harold’s coach from Dublin Rugby Club, where he went first team all-league three years in a row, accompanied him. His parents watched with pride as he made his athletic commitment.

We wish them the best as they pursue their athletic pursuits.
