Girls Basketball Dominates Wellington

The Vikings faced Wellington on Tuesday, January 24. Despite the Jaguars jumping out to a 2-0 lead, the Vikings proceeded to go on a 35-0 run to end the half with a score of 35-2. The Viking’s steals and deflections led to layups on the offense. Caroline M. and Allison F. both had seven points in the first half. With the game on the clock in the third quarter, the Vikings brought the lead to 43-5. And, in the final quarter, they added on one basket for a final 45-8 score. Five Vikes scored seven or more points. Emily R., Allison F. Abby S., and Caroline M. had seven points. Eleanor S. led with ten. 

The Vikings faced Columbus School for Girls on Saturday, January 28 and were down 13-4 after the first quarter, with Abby S. scoring three of the points. In the second quarter, Eleanor S. made two three-pointers. But the Vikings turnovers and fouls caused them to trail 33-15. In the third, the Vikings put up 12 points compared to CSG’s 8. Emily R. scored 8 points in the final quarter and brought it to a four-point game. But the Vikings fell 47-43. Leading scorers were Emily R. with 16 points and Eleanor S. had 10.

The Vikings face Dublin Scioto on Tuesday, January 31, and Worthington Christian on Thursday, February 1. Both contests are at home.
