Girls Swimming Ends Regular Season

The Vikings faced DeSales and Granville on Tuesday, January 24. Early on, Olivia L. won the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.46 beating the competition by almost thirteen seconds. Shortly after, Rene F. took bronze in the 50 free. Ella L. won the 100 fly at 1:09.83. Olivia L. finished 2 in the 500 free and the girls 200 freestyle relay team won with a time of 1:44.88. Then Ella L. claimed silver in the 100 back and the girls took second place in the 400 freestyle relay.

The girl’s placed second with 81 points. This meet also marked the end of the regular season for the Vikings.

At the MSL meet on Saturday, January 28, the girls finished just behind Bexley in the 200-medley relay. Ella L. finished fifth in the 200 freestyle. Later, Olivia L. won the 50 free with a time of 25.11 and finished second in the 100 fly at 1:02.93. Ella L. claimed bronze in the 500 free, and the girls beat the competition in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.38. Ending the meet, Rene F. took second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:15.52 and the girls finished fourth in the 400 freestyle relay.

The girls finished third out of seven teams with 241 points.

Next for the girls is sectionals, the first of their championship meets. Sectionals will take place on Saturday, February 11, at Columbus Academy.
