Our boys basketball team won its first away game of the season on Tuesday, November 29, beating Whitehall 66-49. The team started out strong from the first half, closing it 30-25. Charlie H. led the Vikings with 23 points, followed by MJ J. with 17.
The Vikings continued its win streak on Saturday, December 3, beating big-rival Bexley. The Lions raced out to an early 2-8 lead, but by the end of the quarter the Vikings had closed the gap to 7-9. Academy finally caught up in the second quarter, with Theo F. scoring to tie it up 14-14, but Bexley closed out the first half with an 18-20 lead.
Academy roared back in the second half, however, to win the game 41-31.
The team’s current record is 3-0 and plays at home against KIPP Columbus at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6.
