Each year, several Academy students participate in National History Day (NHD), an annual competition involving the research of a historical event under a given theme. The theme for 2022-2023 is Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas. Students can either collaborate with their peers or work individually to create a documentary, website, performance, exhibit, or paper to present their information.

This year, Mircea B. and Abbey Z. co-lead the NHD club with Mr. Morford serving as its advisor. Over the span of several months, they guide students in curating their final project for the regional competition on March 11, 2023 and later at the state level on April 22, 2023.

Abbey Z. said, “NHD is a very rewarding experience for those interested in history or looking to develop their writing skills.”
