Girls Tennis Triumphs in Districts

The girls varsity tennis excelled this week, with one doubles duo qualifying for the individual state tournament and the team heading to states next week. 

At home, Yasemin B. and Arya C. won 6-0, 6-1 in their first match on Tuesday, October 11, and 6-0, 6-0 in their second match to move on to individual district finals, where they secured a  victory of 6-4, 6-1, sending themselves to the individual state tournament on Friday, October 21, and Saturday, October 22 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

The team blazed through CA’s rival Bexley on the road on Thursday, October 13, prevailing in the district finals and achieving state-bound status for the sixth year in a row. At singles, Arya C. fell 1-6, 0-6, but Tamanna A. and Grace P. came out on top with 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2, 6-0, respectively. In doubles, Yasemin B. and Naomi C. collected a 6-3, 6-1 win, and Anna C. and Sophie W. finished with a 6-1, 6-1, bringing the final score to 4-1.

The girls competes at on Sunday, October 23, at St. Xavier in Cincinnati.
