Girls Volleyball Vikes Go 2-1 

The Vikings started off slowly in their first set against Delaware Christian

on Monday, September 12, dropping it 12-25. The team displayed its perseverance and productive teamwork in the next set, bringing the score up to 21-25. But it was not enough. Academy  lost its final set at 18-25. 

The girls traveled to KIPP Columbus on Tuesday, September 13, and 

Dominated by winning the match 3-0. In the first set, senior Sophia C. led the team to a 25-4 finish with a service run of 20 serves. The team continued to overpower its opponents in the second and third sets, winning 25-9 and 25-1. 

Girls volleyball finished out its week of play on Thursday, September 15, against Columbus School for Girls. The first set started out close, but the Vikes pulled ahead to win 27-25. Academy held the Unicorns to at least a 10-point lead in the next two sets, winning 25-10 and 25-13. Bittania T. and setter Eleanor S. stood out as leaders in the 3-0 match, with intense blocks and powerful serves. Academy’s current record is 5-4.

The team plays away against Worthington Christian on Tuesday, September 20, at 6 p.m.
