Girls Track Prepares for End-of-Season Play

On Wednesday, May 4, our girls track team took on the Bishop Watterson Eagles at home. They won the 4x800m relay with a time of 12:50.29. Ella L and Zoya A claimed gold and silver in the 100-meter hurdles as the team rackes up points with Irena A winning the 100-meter dash and Melanie Q, Olivia L, and Clara S dominated in the mile, taking the top three spots respectively. 

Zoya A placed second in the 300 hurdles, and Irena A did the same for the 200. Clara won the two-mile at 13:19.07. After the girls won the 4×400 relay, Lindsay S won discus and Olivia L won the long jump.

On Friday, May 6, the girls competetd against 9 D I and DII teams at Otterbein. In the long jump, Olivia L. placed 8th, while Yassah T and Lindsay S placed 12th and 13th in the shot put. Lindsay later placed 5th in discus.

After the field events, Julia D came in 5th in the 2000 steeplechase, Ella L placed 5 in the 100m hurdles, and Irena A placed 8th in the 100-meter dash. The girls placed 8th in the 4×800’s in 1:55.15. Melanie Q claimed bronze in the mile at 5:40.58, and Samantha F and Caitlynn H took 7th and 8th in the 400-dash. Zoya A earned 6th in the 30 hurdles. Afterward, Olivia L. placed 7 in the 800m with a time of 2:35.47. Then Melanie Q. placed 3 in the 2 mile. To finish out the meet the girls placed 5 in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:24.52.

The team’s MSL’sare on Tuesday, May 10, at 5:00, and on Thursday, May 13, at 5:00 p.m. at Buckeye Valley.
