Girls Track Celebrate Its Seniors

This girls track team celebrated its seniors on Wednesday, April 27, when competing against Gilead Christian, Liberty Union, and Tree of Life. Ella L and Samantha W claimed gold and silver in the 100-meter hurdles.  Melanie Q finished first in the mile at 5:51.62.  After this powerful start, the girls won the 4×100 followed by another first-place finish by Samantha F in the 400 with a time of 1:04.93. The Vikings did not stop there either. Zoya A won the 300-meter hurdles, and Olivia L finished the fastest in the 800 with a time of 2:38.55. To close the meet, the girls finished first in the 4×400 and ended up winning the meet with 105 points: a 13 point-lead over the 2nd place winner.

On Friday, April 29, the Vikings ran the Milt Will Invitational at Canal Winchester. Our girls were the only Division 3 team out of the eleven schools. Irena A placed 12the in the 100-meter dash followed by Caitlynn H in 10th  in the 400 at 1:05.85. Samantha F came in 5th in the 800 and Clara S. finished 12th in the mile. Melanie Q earned 5th in the two-mile at12:13.31. Zoya A took silver in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.43. The girls placed 6th in the 4×400 and won the 4×800 with a time of 10:24.70. Finishing the meet, Eleanor S came in 14th.

The next meets are at home on May 3 against Bishop Watterson and innthe Columbus International at 4:30 p.m. on May 16.
