On February 10, the 4th graders of Columbus Academy put on a phenomenal production of Madagascar Jr the Musical. Based on the 2005 DreamWorks movie, a group of animals escape the Central Park Zoo and return to their native home in Africa to experience being wild.

The production featured upbeat songs and energetic dance numbers that made everyone in the audience with a smile. The lighting and costumes all contributed to the visual success of the show: the screen in the back shows the change in setting as the animals travel. The costume encapsulate the original characters and create a story line that is easy to follow.
