Boys Swimming Dominates in Quad Meet

On Thursday, January 13, the boys varsity swim team earned 138 points at home, dwarfing Bishop Hartley, Ohio Ready, and Wellington that accumulated 90, 44, and 6 points respectively.

The boy started off with a victory in the 200 medley relay followed by a 1-2 placing by Cy R. and Jono H.  Gavin L. and Luke B. secured silver and bronze in the 200 IM as Drake B. took second in the 50 free. Cy R. and Luke B. finished first and second in the 100 fly as did Gavin L. and Jono H. in the 500 free.

The team sprinted to victory in the 200 free relay. Max P. took second in the 100 free.

To close out the meet, Cyrus H. and Greyson T. picked up second and third in the 100 breaststroke, and the Vikes dominated the 400 free relay by over 30 seconds.

On Saturday, January 15, qualifiers traveled to the Northeast Classic meet in Canton where they competed with top swimmers across the state.The 200 medley relay took 13th out of 24 while the 200 free relay placed 6th out of 22, qualifying the team for finals at night. The 400 free relay earned 19th. In the 50 free, Gavin L. and Drake B nabbed 10th and 39th, and in the 100 free, the pair took 11th and 25th. Will H. placed 17th in the 50 free.

Mircea B., Cyrus H., and Will H. sprinted to 24, 41, and 21 respectively in the 100 breaststroke. Luke B. came in 25th and 18th in the 200 and 500 free. Cy R. finishing in 32nd in the 200 free.

The squad next faces Granville on Friday, January 21, at home.
