On Friday, November 19, ice hockey kicked off its season under new head coach Adam McHugh at home against Bishop Watterson. The team says that Coach McHugh is committed, passionate, and competitive: a favorite of the players’ so far.

In front of the home crowd for the first time in a year due to COVID restrictions, Academy won 8-6.

The next day, Saturday, November 20, the Vikes traveled to face Worthington Kilbourne, losing 5-8.

Then, following a Thanksgiving break, Academy played at home against Gahanna Lincoln. Despite racking up many shots on goal, Academy couldn’t break through Lincoln’s stellar goaltending frequently enough, losing 2-3.

The team, now number 4 in its division, had a game against Bishop Watterson canceled on Sunday, December 5 due to rampant illness decimating the Watterson roster, so the Vikes play next away at Olentangy on Friday, December 17.
