Help Serve Service Board’s Food Drive

While US students are fortunate to dine on plentiful options every school day during lunch, there are approximately 400,000 people in Franklin County who aren’t as blessed. According to the Helping Eastside And Reynoldsburg Thrive (HEART) website, 25% of Franklin County individuals live in a family that misses 3 meals a week, equating to not eating 52 days a year.

You can help transform your neighbors’ lives by donating to Servicve Board’s annual Kids-4-Kids Food Drive beginning Monday, October 25 until through November 4th. For over 30 years, CA has annually provided over 100 grocery store carts full of shelf stable food and toiletries to over 150 people (30+ families) and various food pantries. The above flyer suggests food items the sponsored families may enjoy over the holidays.

If you would like to help beyond placing donations in the collection boxes located in the advisory rooms, be on the lookout for other Service Board (SB) events supplementing the Food Drive, such as Begging 4 Cans and the Sleep Out on November 5 where donations will be organized.

Every student has the opportunity to make a direct impact on someone living in our community. Whether it is by donating food or volunteering for any of the food drive events. It truly does make a difference.
