The Columbus Academy boys tennis team picked up two big victories this week, including a shutout on Senior Night.
The Vikes kicked off the week with a 3-2 victory over the Golden Bears on Monday, April 26. Ryan Panley’22 conquered his first singles opponent 6-1, 6-0, before Saagar Arya’23 sailed by his competitor 6-0, 6-3 in second singles. Dhruv Edamadaka wrapped up the singles round with a clean 6-0, 6-0 win. The cousin duo of Jack Madison’21 and Arie Tuckerman’21 were edged out 4-6, 3-6 at first doubles, while juniors Jake Stouffer and Jaswanth Vandrasi were defeated in a close match of 5-7, 5-7.
On Tuesday, April 27, our boys celebrated Senior Night with a 5-0 victory over Buckeye Valley. Lucas Huang, Jack Madison, and Arie Tuckerman were honored for their dedication to the tennis program.
Tuckerman and Stouffer secured 6-0, 6-0 victories at first and second singles, respectively. Cory Wu’23 followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Huang and Panley crushed their competitors 6-1, 6-0, before Stefen Li’23 and Vandrasi brought it home at second doubles to secure a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The Vikings will host Dublin Coffman on Monday, May 3, before traveling to Hilliard Darby on Wednesday, May 5. Our boys will close out the week with an away match against West Jefferson on Thursday, May 6 at the London courts.
