Girls Track 3rd at Bloom Carroll

The girls track team competetd on April 23 against Amanda-Clearcreek, Bloom Carroll, East Columbus, Fairfield Christian, Fairfield Union, Franklin Heights, Highland, Madison Christian, Utica, Watkins Memorial, and Worthington Christian. Our girls placed 3rd with 86 points, behind Fairfield Union (121) and Bloom Carroll (114). 

Noteworthy were senior Hannah Clay’s 2nd placein the 100 meter dash at 13.67 and her second place in the 400 at 1:04.22, along with Caitlynn Hinds ‘24 earning fourth at 1:05.13.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Sam Whitson’24 finished 3rd at 18.37. Zoya Arnold ‘24 earned fifth in the 300 meter hurdles, running 52.70. For distance, Adelaide Kaufman’23 finished 4th in the mile run at 6:22.37.

The Vikes’ success carried over to relays. In the 4 by 800, Mary Kate Prall’22, Samantha Frickel’23, Eleanor Schroeder’24 and Madeline Proctor ‘22 earned 3rd with 11:02.79. For the 4 by 400 meter relay, Olivia Pierre-Louis’21, Hinds, Arnold and Clay ran to second place with a time of 4:29.80. 

This week will be big for the Vikes. They’ll get standout Regan Cornelius  back just in time for Senior Night on April 27 against London and Delaware Christian, prior to their April 30 meet at Canal Winchester.
