After a promising start to the season, our boys were ready to keep the ball rolling, starting off with a rivalry game away against Bexley on Tuesday, April 13.

The Lions never had a chance, as junior Zach White led the Vikes in stats, with four goals and four assists. Fellow juniors Davey Agrawal and Henry Rubey each notched three goals, while Agrawal had two assists and Rubey had one. Drake Bellisari’22 closed out the scoring with two goals and senior Chris Sugar with one.

The Vikes also dominated on face-offs, with Jake Carlin’22 winning a 15/17. Occasionally, the Lions slipped past our defense when they faced off against Kyle Bernstorf, who had four saves or Parker Knapp, with 6. The Vikes’ well rounded play earned them a 13-4 victory and prepared the team to host Saint Charles on Thursday, April 15.

St. Charles–ourtoughest opponent–had the Vikings come out swinging, leading the first quarter 4-2 and holding onto a 6-6 tie at half. But the Cardinals ramped up and won 14-7. It wasn’t without bright spots, however, as Bellisari scored a hat trick, Rubey nailed in two, and White and Agrawal each got one in the net. White also had five assists, and Carlin had one.

Looking to rebound, the Vikes hosted Jonathan Elder on Saturday, April 17. CA dominated, seizing the lead early and never letting go, ending in a 13-4 win. With White, Agrawal, and Miles Friedman’22 each scoring three, Jake Carlin netted two, and Kyle Carlin and Bellisari each notched one. Bernstorf and Knapps’ 9 and 8 repsective saves cemented a Viking victory.

Our boys travel to Bishop Watterson on Tuesday, April 20, before hosting Gahanna Lincoln on Thursday, April 22. Finally, the team will close out the week traveling to Turpin on Saturday, April 24.
