Over our winter break, Academy partnered with PrimaryOne Health to provide 2 free drive-through COVID-19 testing events for Academy students, faculty, and parents on Tuesday, December 22 and on Monday, December 28.

In the first testing event, held in the athletics parking lot, families drove into a line of parked cars to receive their self-administered a PCR nasal swab test, with 328 people tested-witha 2.5% positivity rate. f

Families were notified of their results via the FollowMyHealth app. Anyone deemed as a close contact to anyone testing positive and informed to quarantine based on CDC guidelines.

The second testing took place at PrimaryOne Health, a community health center on 3433 Agler Road.

As predictions of a January surge after the holidays and news of a new virus strain continue, CA’s testing events are integral to tracking the number of positive cases and taking proper contact tracing precautions to ensure that students coming back to campus are safe.

A third event is planned for the end of the month. Details to come. Academy worksclosely with the Franklin County Health Department to coordinate a date to secure vaccines for faculty and staff.
