Girls Soccer Advances to Final Four

Continuing the Vikings outstanding run, our girls made the trek out to Berlin Hiland for the regional semi-finals on Tuesday, November 3. CA stayed tough, but so did the Hawks, with both teams having opportunities but neither able to capitalize.

The score remained 0-0 throughout the 90 minutes of regulation and the next two overtime periods, sending the game into penalty kicks. There, junior goalkeeper Sophie Spolter came up big, saving numerous Hawks’ players shots. The Vikings stepped up to the line and unfortunately missed the first shot, but senior Katie Schiano and juniors Emma Yakam and junior Diana Ulbrich nailed the ball into the goal to seal the Vikings’ victory and a spot in the regional finals.

CA once again had to travel, but this time to Lynchburg-Clay High on Saturday, November 7. The game started off fast, with both teams relentlessly pressuring each other, but the score remained 0-0. With the first half coming to a close, junior Evie Gee knocked one past the goalkeeper to put the Vikes up 1-0, a lead the girls held onto for the rest of the game, securing CA its second regional finals championship in a row.

Next up, our girls will take on Cincinnati Country Day at Bellbrook High School on Tuesday, November 1 to continue their quest for a state championship.
