On Saturday, October 17, our girls cross country team took the course by storm at the MSL Ohio Cross Country Championships, hosted by Buckeye Valley as the first meet of postseason.

Senior Regan Cornelius pulled through with another stellar performance, becoming the individual league runner-up with a time of 20:00. Samantha Frickel’23, Caitlynn Hinds’24, and Julia DeVore’22 surged forward into 24th, 26th, and 29th in 23:28, 23:48, and 24:43, respectively. Maria Masek’24 and Cat Gerst’24 blew past the finish line in 26:01 and 26:12, securing 32nd and 33rd.

With an excellent average time of 23:36 and a spread of 6:01, the team earned 5th place overall. The Vikes look to continue to run well at the District meet on Saturday, October 24, at Hilliard Darby. There, the top three teams and top 12 individuals will advance to Regionals, the final meet before States.
