After a brief break, the Columbus Academy girls volleyball team returned to the court to get back in sync. The girls entered the week with an away match against Delaware Christian on Saturday, October 10. The Vikes fought hard against the Eagles but were outlasted 0-3 against one of their biggest rivals.

After the tough loss, our girls hosted Harvest Prep on Monday, October 12, securing a 3-0 victory. The Vikes won the first set 25-11, with a kill from newcomer Eliora Teferi’24 then dominated the second set 25-12 after an ace from Sophia Constantine’23. The team looked unstoppable in the third set, with juniors Kerry O’ Connor and Aislinn Ahern racking up multiple aces en route to a staggering 25-3 win.

Following their stellar performance, the Vikings faced Buckeye Valley on Tuesday, October 13. Our girls kept all three sets close, but Buckeye Valley would not be deterred. The Vikes finished the first set 17-25, before suffering a 19-25 loss after an especially tight second set won by a Buckeye Valley spike. The girls pushed to win the final set, but the competition was too steep, and they girls lost 16-24.

The CA girls volleyball team has two more matches before districts, although some of its missed matches may be rescheduled. The Vikings will travel to Worthington Christian on Thursday, October 15, before facing rival Shekinah Christian away on Saturday, October 17.
