Girls Tennis Dominates on Senior Night

The Columbus Academy girls tennis team celebrated Senior Night at home with a 4-1 victory over Olentangy on Wednesday, September 30. Panya Bhinder, Lauren Motta, Sydni Ratliff, Sophia Sommer, and Carolyn Tsung were honored for their dedication to the tennis program.

Ratliff kicked off the match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at first singles, while Arya Chabria’24 sailed by her opponent 6-0, 6-1. Bhinder attempted to close the singles bracket with a win, but was defeated 1-6, 0-6. Naomi Chen’23 and Tsung conquered their Olentangy rivals 6-1, 6-4 at first doubles, as the sister duo of Lauren Motta and Emily Motta’23 brought it home with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

The Vikings will travel to Wellington on Monday, October 5, for the first match of the OHSAA team tournament, before hosting Sectionals on Thursday, October 8, and Saturday, October 10.
