This week was not one to remember for the CA girls volleyball team. The young squad went 0-4, including a heartbreaking 5th set loss against Tree of Life Christian. CA’s first match was on Monday, September 21, against Centerburg at home. Our girls came out strong, winning the first set 26-24, but then fell in the next three 25-15, 25-10 and 25-15.

The Vike’s had to rally for another home match the next day, Tuesday, September 22, against Worthington Christian. It was 17-17 in the first set, but CA ran out of gas and lost the second set 25-19, before falling 25-14 and 25-20 in the third and fourth sets.

Next, CA visited Grandview Heights on Thursday, September 24, to play a stout Bobcats squad, losing 25-7, 25-9, and 25-10. The Vikings looked refreshed against Tree of Life Christian on Saturday, September 26, at home. Our girls won the first two sets, the first of which coming off a fantastic dig by Kerry O’Connor ‘22 and a masterful spike by Olivia Pierre-Louis ‘21 to clinch it at 25-14. Unfortunately, the Trojans just wouldn’t go away. They went on to win the next three sets 25-13, 25-20 and 15-10, taking it 3-2.

The Vikes will look to pick up a home win against rival Bexley on Tuesday, September 29, which is their only match next week.
