Girls Soccer Loses to CSG then Defeats Bexley on Senior Night

Our girls soccer team started off the week with an away game on Wednesday, September 23, against league opponent CSG.

The Vikes held off the Unicorns for most of the first half, but CSG managed to slip one through our girls tightly-packed defensive, which gave them a lead at the break. CA pressured on after halftime with numerous good looks on goal, but couldn’t finish. The Unicorns capitalized once more in the middle of the half, and the game ended in a 2-0 loss.

Disappointed, our girls were ready to battle  Bexley on Saturday, September 26  at home for Senior Night., honoring Olivia Archibald, Allison Bergman, Hannah Clay, Ashi Gunawardena, Regina Ortiz, Katie Schiano, and Maggie Walter, all of whom have made outstanding contributions to the program.

Fired up from the our campus’s festivities, CA came out aggressively, but the game was only back-and-forth for much of the first half. With no score at halftime, Schiano rose to the occasion with a beautiful goal in the game’s dwindling minutes.

The Vikes take on Worthington Christian away on Wednesday, September 30, before facing Bloom-Carroll at home on Saturday, October 3.
