Hot off from two straight state championships, Coach Anne Horton’s girls are ready to seal the threepeat.

Despite losing key seniors last year, the team has remained solid, starting the season with a record of 5-1-1 and outscoring their opponents 51-4 in that time, only falling to perennial powerhouse Bishop Watterson.

To start the week, the team held its Senior Night, honoring Charlotte Adams, Zoey Black, Amelia Bruggeman, Regan Cornelius, Sarah Klingerman, Anjali Rangi, Ashley Reynolds, Sona Santry, and Sarah Silver at home against Worthington Kilbourne, winning 3-0.

On Thursday, September 17, our girls traveled to Upper Arlington to take on a tough Golden Bears squad.

Upper Arlington came out fierce, determined to defend its turf, but our Vikings were ready and came out sprinting. The Vikes held possession for most of the game, and they capitalized two of their scoring opportunities, with Klingerman’21 and Annabelle Huyghe’22 each sending one into the back of the cage.

Despite a final rally from the Golden Bears, Goalie Sarah Silver’21 and the defense worked hard to keep a clean sheet, taming the Golden Bears in a 2-0 win and improving the Vikes’ record to 7-1-1.

The team’s next game is against  its biggest rival, Thomas Worthington, at home on Tuesday, September 22.
