Female protagonists, violence, and R-rated, Cathy Yan’s Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, comes with multiple fight scenes involving blood and weapons, some of which are uncomfortable to watch. And the film would have been equally as good with less of it. 

Friendship and trust work together to take down the Black Mask. Its exceptional acting is worth watching, if you can look past the barbarity.
