The Vikes wrapped up the swim season with some fabulous performances at states on Friday, February 21, and Saturday, February 22, at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Our girls 200 medley relay of seniors Annalise Grammel, Taylor Warren, and Abby Yalam, along with talented sophomore Lauren Klinefelter, took 1oth place in the preliminary heats, enough to gain a spot in finals. They held steadily, earning an 11th place finish among a stacked field.
The 400 free relay of sophomores Butnariu, Klinefelter, and Mary Kate Prall, among with Grammel, also advanced past the preliminaries, racing to an astounding 7th place and earning themselves a podium spot in the finals.
Klinefelter wasn’t finished, however. She tackled the 200 IM preliminaries, but failed to qualify for finals. She rebounded not long after, and swam to a 14th place finish in the 100 fly overall.
Our CA swimmers capped off a phenomenal season with strong performances at the state meet, and though the team is losing some key members, a strong sophomore squad looks to return better than ever.
