Due to a late cancellation by Columbus West, both the boys and girls only bowled in one match this week at HP Lanes on Tuesday, February 4, against Gahanna Lincoln.

Lincoln posted the highest score this year against our male vikes with a 2,475 compared to our boys’ 1696.

Lion star Nathan Minzler‘20 smoked the competition, owling 214 and 280. On our side, Vincent White‘21 led the way with a 133 and a 209. Next up was fellow junior Cole Leis, who bowled 164 and 126, while Jacob Mowery’23 continued his impressive rookie campaign with 138 and 137. Ryan Reagan’22 had 125 and 107, Michael Hoffman’20 had 140 and Donovan Simpson’20 held a 107 to round out the Vikings team.

Our girls lost 1954 to 1388, with Gahanna also posting the highest score against our striking Vikings this year. Lilu Smith‘21 was equally as impressive as Minzler for the Lions, leading the team with a 183 and a staggering 254.

Nikki Turley‘20 led our team with 130 and 151, followed by Evelyn Olexio’21 with 102 and 131. Tara Hoffman’22 rebounded after struggling initially, finishing with 87 and 132, while Bea Sull‘21 bowled 114 and 99, and Gigi Bates‘20 ended with a 99 and 113.

Both the male and female bowlers have a lot of free time coming up, as CA will not compete again until the Thursday, February 20, at HP Lanes in districts.
