Boys Bowling Splits Results, Girls Go 0-1

This week, the male striking Vikings went 1-1, while the girls lost their lone match. The boys lost against a formidable Worthington Christian squad on Tuesday, January 28, 1864 to 1747. In this close loss, Vinny White ‘21 led the way with an impressive performance, putting up 179 and 159, but he was unable to compete with Warriors powerhouse Mason Marsh, who led with a staggering 170 and 206. Not far behind White for the Vikings was Ryan Reagan‘22, who bowled 154 and 178. The final member of the 300 club was Donovan Simpson ‘20, who bowled 127 and 181

Our boys bounced back against Haughland on Friday, January 31. CA won 1607 to 1316, with White yet again leading the way with 174 and 149. Simpson impressed again with 159 and 150, and Reagan bowled consistently with a pair of 137s. Another star of the squad was Jacob Mowery‘23, who bowled 123 and 107. 

The girls’ lone match this week was against Worthington Christian on Thursday, January 28. Despite failing to the Warriors 1798 to 1470, there were multiple strong performances, including lead scorer for the Vikings Evie Olexio’21, who bowled a 1798 and 1460. She was followed by Tara Hoffman’22 with a 135 and 126 and senior Nikki Turley with a 124 and 116. Newcomer Maddy Rosenberg‘21 put up impressive numbers for her first go-around with a 103 and 102, and Gigi Bates‘20 rounded out the squad with a 102 and 91. 

Next up for both squads is a Monday, February 3, match against West, followed by a Tuesday, February 4, match against Gahanna Lincoln, both at HP Lanes.
