After two dominant meets the previous week, the AquaVikes brought home another victory on Thursday, January 9, with a first place ranking over rivals Bishop Hartley and Wellington at the Madison Christian Natatorium.
The 200-yard relay kicked off with James Cao’20, Cyrus Hannallah’22, Gavin Lewis’23, and Ezra Johnson’20 dashing to a first place finish.
Johnson secured another victory with a final time of 25:29 in the individual 50-yard freestyle, with Hannallah close behind in third place.
As for individual results, Johnson claimed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a 25.29, while the AquaVikes dominated the 100 yard freestyle, as Cao conquered his opponents to take home the gold, followed by Luke Boltz’23 and Cyrus Richardson’22. Junior Rowan Hennessy easily claimed gold in the 100 backstroke, defeating his competition by almost 2 seconds, racing a 1:06.49.
Academy placed first with 179 points. The boys face rival Bexley, along with Bloom Carroll, Chilliocothe, Licking Heights, and Madison Christian on Friday, January 17.
