The Vikes capped off the first week back at school in a home meet on Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10, besting The Wellington School and Columbus Bishop Hartley with a team score of 214.

Mary Kate Prall’22 defeated her competition in both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle with a time of 58.72 and 2:09.43. Abby Yakam’20 won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:15.54, while senior Annalise Grammel bested her opponents in the 50 yard freestyle, finishing in 27.40, closely followed Taylor Warren’20 with a 27.83. Sophomore Lauren Klinefelter  outpaced her rivals by over 20 seconds in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:19:19.

The Northeast Classic in Canton on Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12, proved to be a tougher challenge for our AquaVikes. Regardless, Klinefelter advanced past prelims into the finals of the 100 yard butterfly, earning sixth overall with a time of 57.39.

CA takes on Bexley, Bloom Carroll, Chillicothe, Licking Heights, and Madison Christian on Friday, January 17, before directly following it up with an away meet at St. Charles on Saturday, January 18, against CSG and Liberty.
