From October 28 to November 12, Academy launched its oldest service tradition: the Kids 4 Kids food and clothing drive.
The school-wide project aims to provide meals, clothing, household items, and toys for 30 families, referred by Siebert Elementary and The Childhood League.
Many upper schoolers also attended the Begging For Cans event on Halloween night, going door to door asking for donations. In the end, the upper school accounted for over 3,000 items alone.
The middle school shopped for each family, built meals and selecting clothing based on each family’s size and age range. Lower schoolers traveled to Meijer to purchase more needed items. Academy families also placed additional items in carts that were stationed around campus.
Families will receive their items at Siebert Elementary and The Childhood League Center in the upcoming days. Extra donations will be given to GRIN, the Gahanna Residents In Need program.
