Update on Boys and Girls Golf Squads in Postseason

Our boys went to the Denison Golf Club on Tuesday, September 17, for MSL’s. With a total score of 298, the Vikings won first place with some room to spare. Among the seniors, Griffin Mitchell scored a 71, Kahmar Byers a 79, and both Ali Khan and Matthew Cammeyer a 74. Not lagging far behind, Russell Ahmed’22 and Stephen Ma’23 scored 80 and 81, respectively. Mitchell also earned the title of MSL Player of the Year.

On Thursday, September 19, the boys headed to The Lakes Golf and Country Club to face off against Marysville. Once again, the Vikes placed first with a score of 159. 

A match against Upper Arlington on Saturday, September 21, was cancelled. 

The girls golf squad also had MSL’s on September 17, playing at the Airport Golf Course. The Vikings placed 5th with a score of 398.

The girls confronted Bexley on Thursday, September 19, at Blacklick. Unfortunately, they lost with a 194, but had strong individual scores. Grace Luo lead the all-ninth grade team with 41, followed by Eva Baker with 49 and Eliza Freytag with 51. Morgan Crain rounded out the top four with a 53.

The girls will attend sectionals at Blacklick Woods on Monday, September 23.

The boys will face Dublin Jerome at the Muirfield Country Club on Saturday, September 28.
